Low Hanging Fruit: Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe

Happy Fall!

I’m thrilled to have cooler temperatures over here in the midwest (WOOH Chicago weather!). There’s something about waking up to the crisp fresh air and throwing on a sweater, jeans, and boots that really gets me excited to start my day.

Despite the cooling weather, smoothie bowls tend to be my breakfast of choice. They’re deliciously sweet and colorfully gorgeous. Plus, preparation & blending only take five minutes, leaving me ten to fifteen minutes to sit and enjoy this bright bowl of goodness. Here is a simple and nutritious recipe to kick start your day.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:
½ cup frozen strawberries
1/2 banana (frozen creates a thicker consistency)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
2 cups water
2 handfuls of ice
¼ cup Fruit For Thought Dried Cherries

Instructions:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and mix for 2-3 minutes, until ice chunks are gone.
2. Top with Fruit For Thought Dried Cherries, along with your favorite granola, nuts or seeds!
