Hachiya persimmons take longer to dry than many other fruits due to their high moisture content and dense, sugary pulp. Their custard-like texture means they need extra time to fully dehydrate. At Fruit For Thought, we use a careful, slow drying process that preserves their flavor and nutrients while ensuring the perfect chewy texture in every slice.

Fun fact about our snack! While Fruit For Thought offers dried Hachiya persimmon slices, traditional Japanese dried persimmons (Hoshigaki) are dried whole, rather than in slices.
